Letter from the President

It’s hard to believe that it has been almost 40 years since I came to work in the construction industry. In that time I’ve worked with some of the best and brightest in the trades and with some of the most interesting and provocative clients in the Bay Area. I’ve seen trends come and go, techniques evolve over time and technology both enhance and destroy the artistry of this industry. I like to believe that RNW Construction is a composite of all the “bests” of each respective element of this business.

I’m proud to say that I learned from two of the industry’s acknowledged best—Bob Jensen and Bert Mayta. Under their direction I learned the ins and outs of this industry, having done everything from finishing custom cabinets to carpentry and architectural drawing, estimating and project management. It was with their encouragement, in fact, that I decided to become a general contractor myself.

So, in 1984 I became a licensed contractor and set out to build a business that would break the stereotypes that so often characterize our industry. There have been many twists and turns along the way, but in 2001 when I joined forces with my partners Michael Nieri and Gale White to form RNW Construction, I finally achieved what I had set out to do.

Michael’s unmatched energy and 30 years of experience in Bay Area construction coupled with Gale’s back-office savvy and 20+ years of working with vendors, suppliers and permit bureaus is instrumental in the success of every job and a major factor in the Company’s on-going performance. This same level of experience and professionalism is prevalent throughout the Company.

At its core, RNW Construction is a family composed of seasoned professionals who understand that to every client, there is no job more important than his or her own. Our clients want, and have a right to expect, that their job will be completed on time, on budget and with the utmost of pride and professionalism shown by every man and woman who shows up to the job site. It’s a commitment that is understood and kept by every member of the RNW team.
